A modification of the popular Fine-Thornton Fixation Ring, this instrument is designed to facilitate placement of limbal relaxing incisions when treating corneal astigmatism. The two, 180° opposed, broad hash marks are to be aligned with the steep corneal meridian, centering the ring over the patient’s positive astigmatic axis. 10° marks distinguish the extent of arc to be incised. This instrument can also be used to move the globe into position to allow for perpendicular placement of the incisions and to steady the eye when using topical anesthesia. Overall length: 117mm.
